Free Fruit Trees And Urban Farming Class March 27th
Bright Neighbor Gives Away Free Fruit Trees And Urban Farming Class On March 27th
Do you have a yard or lawn? Want to add an apple, pear, plum, or cherry tree to it for free? We have sixty-five fruit trees to give new homes to – first come first served.
On Saturday, March 27th from 1 – 3PM, Bright Neighbor members are invited to come learn urban farming skills, including how to create new food trees via tree grafting. It’s a valuable class that you would have to pay money to learn elsewhere.
Grafting tree branches requires a sharp blade, and we will provide you with practice tree branches. You are responsible for bringing and handling your own knife if you want hands-on practice, we will provide instruction on the process. Bright Neighbor will be hiring tree grafters and urban farmers next year, so these skills can be rewarding!
Also learn:
– Rainwater catchment
– Maximizing food yields grown at home
– How to turn kitchen scraps into money
– How to make great soil at home
– And more from the Bright Neighbor community!
Portland’s own permaculture expert Jeremy O’Leary will also be presenting the details about the new and exciting Multnomah County Food Initiative.
It’s a great time to dig in the dirt and network with others in the community who have a thirst for knowledge.
Hope to see you March 27th!
Warm regards,
