Motorcycle of the Not-Too-Distant Future
We have all seen a stunt or two done on a motorcycle in a movie or in person, we have never seen a motorcycle more exciting than this futuristic concept. While it may remain only in the concept stage, in most predictions, I believe some enterprising manufacturer or Manga fan might just built it and create a hit sensation. I know I would buy one.
We have seen such crazy ideas like turbine engine motorcycles, one of which is owned by Jay Leno, and even a one wheeled motorcycle designed much like a Segway. It is not improbable that something of this concept design’s nature will grace the streets of the world. It is described by the designer, Jake Loniak, a transportation design student as “like riding two skateboards at once, but stable, because the machine supports the rider’s body… This isn’t fantasy, it’s a green vehicle, and all of the numbers are based in the real world.”
Those real numbers deliver such predictions as a 0-60mph in just 3 seconds and a capped top speed of 75 mph, which will more than likely open the after-market product gurus to increase that significantly for on-track performance and off-track fun. Sure looks like fun to me.
